Banjo gal Donna Lynn Caskey honors folk tradition while sometimes taking it to edgy, new places. Her debut album, Nameless Heart, consists of twelve timeless-sounding, boundary-stretching originals on clawhammer banjo. Caskey began writing and playing banjo in 2011 after attending an intensive banjo course in North Carolina on a full scholarship. Shortly thereafter, she left her home in Virginia by train for California. Her heartfelt, engaging performances inspire audiences to sing along, weep at soul-stirring ballads, and laugh at playful one-liners amidst occasional bouts of tuning.
